Despite everyone's best efforts, sometimes your prototype just doesn't quite work right or there's a last minute engineering change order after the boards go to fab. Once you've identified the problem, you can respin the board... but wait, what if there's more problems? What if your fix isn't quite right?
Antikernel Labs is equipped to perform complex rework tasks on low-volume or one-off designs so that you can be confident your next board revision will perform perfectly. Reworking a prototype also allows your firmware team to begin development before the next revision is ready, thus saving vital time in the project design cycle.
Capabilities include:
- BGA rework
- Hand soldering down to EIA 01005
- Soldermask touch-up with UV-curable ink or 2-part epoxy
- Jumper wires
- Trace cuts
- Repair of lifted traces or SMT lands
- Addition of passives or "dead bug" ICs
- 3-axis milling to perform inner layer circuit edits
